Messages from Editors and Designers:
Editor-in-Chief:
This is my third semester as Editor-in-Chief and with every semester, I make more mistakes. But with each mistake, I learn more and grow more. I have also grown in my appreciation of this magazine, of my friends I have worked beside, and of all the beautiful art our community creates.
I am ever grateful for my wonderful board members who volunteered their time, sweat and sleep for this magazine. They have all stepped up to help in many little ways and make this magazine better than ever!
Thank you, Dr. Elliott, for your constant support and your work behind the scenes to ensure the magazine succeeds! I appreciate all of the reviewers who volunteered their time to read hundreds of submissions this semester. Your participation and feedback is crucial to our submission process. Congratulations and thank you to all of our wonderful contributors who shared their creativity. And finally, thank you to all of our readers. We do this for you!
Assistant Editor:
I am a junior at AU majoring in English with a minor in Gender Studies. I plan to graduate in December 2023 and work as a copy editor or writer while attending graduate school. I’m very thankful for all the connections I’ve made and experiences I’ve had in the three semesters I’ve worked on the Elysian board. Thank you to the executive board for making each meeting fun, even on the long, late nights, and thank you to all the contributors for inspiring me to write more creatively.
Writing Editor:
I am a junior at AU majoring in English and minoring in Spanish. Being on the Elysian board has been an amazing experience, and reading and editing the work of my peers this past year, and I am incredibly proud of the issue we’ve put together this semester. I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I do.
Photography Editor:
I am a senior at Aurora University majoring in Business Administration. I plan to graduate in May of 2023 and pursue a career in photography. This was my first year being the photography editor for the Elysian magazine. I was initially nervous about joining a school organization, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Thank you to the executive board for making me feel welcome and helping me learn about various artistic aspects. I hope this year’s issue means as much to you as it does to me. I’m proud to be a part of it. To each and every winner, congratulations!
Digital Designer:
I am a senior at AU majoring in graphic design. I'm planning to graduate in December 2022 and pursue graphic design and photography with videography and video production on the side. This was my first time being involved with the Elysian Magazine especially being tasked with putting all the winning contributions onto the website while also making sure everything looks nice and presentable. This was a fun project to work on and I'd like to thank all the staff for providing their input during the process in order to put everything together as best as possible. I'm very happy and proud to be part of this. And congratulations to every one who made it to this semester's issue!
