Hello, I’m Alana Steele, I transferred into AU as an English Major. I love writing poetry, fiction, and autobiographical pieces. In my free time, I love spending time taking pictures with my fiancé, Ethan and my service dog, Sake.

Alyssa Sondgeroth

Alyssa Sondgeroth is a proud Elementary Education major and Special Education minor. In her rare moments of free time, Alyssa enjoys writing poetry, short stories, and is currently working on a book series. In her writing, she expresses things that are hard to speak about like the grief of intimate loss and the happy moments caught within it.

Aurora Williams

Aurora Williams was born in 2004 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She attends Aurora University to complete a double major in criminal justice and psychology while also playing for the school’s division III women’s ice hockey team.

Blend Dalipi

Blend Dalipi was born in Macedonia. Having grown up in his home country where art and culture was always appreciated and celebrated, he learned more about his culture and pride in his roots.

Bridget Tully

Bridget Tully is a junior undergraduate transfer student at Aurora University. She graduated from College of DuPage with an Associates in Arts this past spring and is now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English. Bridget sometimes writes stories and poems in her free time, but finds writing poetry easier.

Brooke Dowd

Brooke Dowd is an English and Communications Major who loves to write whenever she gets the chance. Her inspirations are her family, her faith, Taylor Swift, and her cat.

Cory Williams

Cory Williams is a photographer based in the south suburbs of Chicago. Photography has granted Cory the opportunity to express his deepest emotions and thoughts. Cory's primary goal with every picture is to capture a feverous story.

Dalin Johnson

Dalin is a junior at AU majoring in English with a minor in Gender Studies. She plans to graduate in December 2023 and work as a copy editor or writer while attending graduate school.

Danielle Moy

Danielle Moy is a junior student at Aurora University, majoring in Business Administration. In her free time, she loves to learn and dance to K-pop choreographies. On any given day, you can find her snacking on chocolate and binge-watching Korean dramas.

 

Diego Guzman Favela

Diego Guzman Favela is a first-generation student athlete from East Aurora attending Aurora University who likes to spend his time enjoying music, weightlifting, and reading. Desperate to find something to do besides exercise during the COVID-19 lockdown, Diego took up film photography as a way to deal with anxiety, deliberately using old analog cameras to slow down and take in scenery. This hobby grew more serious as he took up a sports photography position for the East Aurora football. He hopes to incorporate photojournalism in his future endeavors.

Emma Fisher is a junior at Aurora University. She is an English Major and this is her second time being published in Elysian Magazine. She is very happy to share her work with you!

Freddy Munoz Miranda is a secondary education major. He's from West Chicago and has a passion for reading and writing poetry. He also runs in his free time and wants to become a high school English teacher while coaching cross country/track.

Juan Nuñez is an Aurora University student double majoring in Marketing and Graphic Design. Juan also shares a passion for film and photography. His photography ranges from street to nature photography.

Kelly Fischer

Kelly earned an Associate of Art degree from Waubonsee Community College and will receive a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Aurora University in May 2023. Her inspiration for pursuing a career in photography came from her grandfather, who was a professional photographer. She aspires to fulfill her dream of becoming a successful photographer.

Kimberly Leslie

Kimberly Leslie is a freshman English Major who has ascended to the heavens from happiness at her writing being published for the first time. She has been writing as a hobby for at least ten years, and she loves it enough that she desires a career involving writing. When she's not writing, Kim is reading, drawing, doing puzzles, playing Nintendo games, and being mauled by her loving dogs, cats, and family.

Kimberly Ornela is a Graphic Design and Criminal Justice Major attending Aurora University. Her passions are digital illustrations and character designing. She hopes to one day work in the animation industry to become a professional character designer and story board director.

Lily Vance

Lilly Vance is a sophomore at Aurora University majoring in Graphic Design and Marketing. She is on the volleyball team and loves to draw in her free time. Her work, Cover of Durer’s Crucifixion, was drawn during her freshman year in her Intro to Drawing Class. She is very proud of how the drawing came out.

Madalynn Sedgwick

Madalynn Sedgwick is a 23-year-old aspiring author who transferred to Aurora University in the Fall of 2022 to continue her Bachelor's degree. She transferred from Waubonsee Community College and has plans to continue her education to earn a Master's in English as well as a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Madalynn hopes to one day publish a novel but also plans to teach English at the college level.

Marisella Kidd

Marisella is currently an Aurora University student majoring in English and History. She enjoys surrealist crafts and wishes to implement ideas of life and a heightened imagination in her works. When Marisella is not studying or working, she enjoys reading and sewing.

Mia Woltman is currently studying Elementary Education at Aurora University and earning endorsements in both ESL and Secondary English. She hopes to instill creativity and imagination within her future students.

Robert McDonald is a junior transfer student at AU. He's a lover of writing and language with a drive for storytelling, but he also spends a lot of time gaming and playing with his many, many foster dogs. One day, he hopes to write professionally as a published author.

Tania Fernandez is currently an undergraduate student obtaining her degree in Social Work at Aurora University. She inspires to make a change within the social justice field.

Tanner Hurd

Tanner Hurd is a junior at Aurora University, currently working towards his Bachelor's degree in English. He has been interested in creative writing for most of his life and plans to pursue a career in screenwriting or technical writing. Most of his time is spent doing work for school, watching movies, playing video games, and writing stories.

Yaritza Argueta-Morales

Yaritza Argueta-Morales is currently a junior at AU and is double majoring in Graphic Design and Business Admin. She started to grow a passion for photography last spring semester and continued to practice improving her skills. She loves to dance, travel, and spend time with family and friends in her free time.
